Akaranarta and the rest of the Juuga Sanninshu were defeated in the Deva-Asura war and sealed in stone, away from Tenkuukai. Indrah broke the seal and freed them in order to use them against Shulato and the others.
Akaranarta was defeated by the former RyuuOh, and still carries a scar from the battle. That scar is his weak point.
After Kundalini and Trylo are killed, he absorbs their Shaktis, creating a new combo Shakti. He uses this instead of his regular one for the rest of the series.
In the second season, he is resurrected once again by Shiva.
